Chukwudike and Wisdom storm to double honours at D.K Olukoya U-18 Champs

Harry Chukwudike and Isoken Wisdom were double winners at the maiden edition of Pastor Daniel Kolawole Olukoya National Under-18 Athletics Championships which ended on Thursday at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex, Lagos.

Chukwudike, from Abia State, took the Boys 100m Gold in 10.61 secs ahead of Rotimi Adebayo of Buka Tigers Track Club, Ijebu Ode (silver in 10.88 secs) and Mamus Emuobonivie (10.94) of Delta State (bronze in 10.94 secs).

Chukwudike completed his double yesterday by adding the 200m title in 21.97 secs ahead of Rotimi Adebayo of Buka Tiger (silver in 21.99 secs) and Demola Adeniji of Osheku Club (bronze in 22.19 secs)

Isoken Wisdom of Edo state won the Girls 100m in 11.94 secs with Busola Adewale (12.36 secs) and Bidemi Ogunlola (12.37 secs) settling for the silver and bronze medals respectively.

She later completed her double in the Girls 200m just like her male conterpart, clocking 24. 61 secs ahead Busola Adewale who finished second in 25.61 secs. Rukayat Aweda of Greater Tomorrow  settled for the bronze medal.

Ololade Durojaiye took the Boys 400m gold in 48.78 secs ahead of Rivers State pair of Friday Baridora and Isa Umar.

Over 500 athletes from 16 states and 18 clubs participated in the two-day championships which had been postponed twice in the past weeks.
