Durban 2016: Senegal selects 14 athletes for African Championships

The Athletics Federation of Senegal (Federation Senegalaise d’Athletisme) will be represented by 14 athletes at the 20th CAA African Senior Athletics Championships in Durban, South Africa next week.

The Senegalese team to the 2016 African Championships (8 men and 6 women) will be led by Hammer thrower Amy Sène.

Sène will be aiming to claim her third African title in the event after finishing with the silver medal in Marrakesh in 2014.

Team Senegal – African Senior Championships Durban 2016:

MEN:

  • 100m: Josh Swaray
  • 200m: Moulaye Sonko
  • 400m Hurdles: Amadou Ndiaye
  • Long Jump: Ndiss Kaba Badji, Mamadou Gueye
  • 4x100m: Josh Swaray, Moulaye Sonko, Ismael Diop, Boubacar Sakho, Mouhamadou Fall

WOMEN:

  • 400m: Fatoumata Diop
  • 100m Hurdles: Gnima Faye
  • High Jump: Ndeye Arame Diop
  • Long Jump / Triple Jump: Sokhna Safietou Kante, Sangoné Kandji
  • Hammer: Amy Sène
