Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare destroyed a stellar 100m field, sets a new personal best while Kenyans Vivian Cheruiyot takes a routine women's 5000m win and Silas Kiplagat wins the Emsley Carr Mile in the weekend's Aviva Grand Prix - Samsung Diamond League meet at Crystal Palace in London.
Okagbare shocked a field that included her training mate American World 100m champion Carmelita Jeter and Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica with an 11.01 secs win.
She had earlier clocked a personal best of 10.99 secs behind Fraser-Pryce in the semi- final, just 0.09s outside Glory Alozie’s African record.
Jeter was second in 11.03 secs with another American Tianna Madison third, 11.13 secs. Ivorian star, Murielle Ahoure was fourth also timed in 11.13 secs.
After the race, Okagbare told the media: "I'm excited. Whatever you say about the conditions, you have to go out there and do your best. That was what I did today and I'm really grateful for that. The time was good.
"It was a strong field. You've got to keep your focus and do what you have to do and that was what I did," she added.
Jeter on her part said: "I feel like I got a good start, but my finish wasn't all the way there. These conditions happen sometimes."
"I'm still confident. It was a very good field, but right now I'm just preparing for London, preparing for the Games."
Silas Kiplagat of Kenya won the Emsley Carr Mile in a season's best time of 3:52.44 ahead of Britain’s Ross Murray (3:52.77) and compatriot Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku (3:53.15).
American Molly Beckwith edged out Kenyan Janeth Jepkosgei on the line in the women’s 800m with both timed at 2:00.68 and fellow Kenyan Winny Chebet settling for third in 2:00.76.
On Friday, Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot led a Kenyan sweep of the women's 5000m, winning in 14:48.86 over compatriots' Mercy Cherono (14:49.26), Linet Chepkwemoi Masai (14:53.93) and Veronica Nyaruai Wanjiru (14:57.75).
