Vote for your African Athlete of the Year 2012

Please Vote for the athlete you think deserved to be named the African Athlete of the Year 2012.

The 2012 outdoor athletics season has come to an end but we witnessed many outstanding performances at the 18th African Senior Athletics Championships in Porto-Novo Benin and the Olympic Games in London this past summer.

Also our junior athletes shined at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona and African athletes dominated most of the IAAF sanctioned meetings in Europe and other parts of the world including the Samsung Diamond League final in Brussels.

We have put together a panel of experts to come up with a shortlist of the outstanding athletes and performances achieved by African athletes in 2012.

The Nominations below are the best 8 African athletes this year, all of them Olympic and Paralympic Gold medalists.

The voting will close at midnight CAT on December 21, 2012.

The Winner will be announced on our website on Sunday December 23rd and the athlete will then adorn the cover of our maiden print magazine version in Q1 2013.

Also next year will mark the 10-year anniversary of AthleticsAfrica.Com and we intend to hold a major award and a bigger competition to honour the best and finest athletes, coaches and officials from the African continent at the Athletics Africa Awards (ATAF Awards 2013)
