Côte d’Ivoire’s Hua Wilfried Serge Koffi won the men’s 200m gold medal at the 28th Summer Universiade – World University Games in Gwanju, South Korea on Friday.

Côte d’Ivoire’s Serge Hua Wilfried Koffi won the men’s 200m gold medal at the 28th Summer Universiade – World University Games in Gwanju, South Korea on Friday.

[link id=”573″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Koffi”], a PhD student at the Shanghai University of Sport in China, stormed through the race in a season’s best time of 20.41 seconds ahead of US’s Bryce Robinson, who claimed the silver medal in 20.51, and Turkey’s Ramil Guliyev, who picked the bronze medal in 20.59 seconds.

South Africa’s [link id=”784″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Ncincilili Titi”] improved his time from 20.71 to 20.68 seconds to finish just outside the medals in fourth.

The 27-year-old Hua Wilfried Koffi is the reigning double African sprints champion from [link id=”367″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Marrakech”], Morocco last year.

Another South African, [link id=”783″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Justine Palframan”], won the women’s 400m in a lifetime best time of 51.27 seconds.
