Ethiopia’s Genzebe Dibaba smashed another world Indoor record, her third in 2 weeks, this time the two-mile record at the British Indoor Grand Prix meeting in Birmingham on Saturday.

Two weeks ago in Karlsruhe, Dibaba [link id=”7521″ text=”erased the world indoor 1500m record” target=”_blank”] and only last week in Stockholm [link id=”7559″ text=”smashed the women’s indoor 3,000m record ” target=”_blank”] by nearly seven seconds.

Dibaba, visibly tired in the closing stages of the race, told the media afterwards: “In the middle of the race I felt a bit weak and tired but with the help of the crowd and all the buzzing I was able to gain momentum and get the record.
“Now I’m hoping to win a gold at the world indoors,” she added.
Ivory Coast sprinter [link id=”205″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Murielle Ahouré” target=”_blank”] won an explosive women’s 60m Final, edging out two-times Olympic Games 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica by photo-finish with both athletes timed at 7.10 seconds.
Nigeria’s [link id=”153″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Regina George” target=”_blank”] continued her superb indoor form in 2014 by winning the women’s 400m in 51.78 seconds while the World 800m Champion, [link id=”256″ tax=”post_tag” text=”Mohammed Aman” target=”_blank”], sets an Ethiopian record 1:44.52 to take the men’s 800m race ahead of Andre Oliver of South Africa who clocked a lifetime best time of 1:44.99.
