Watch Ethiopia’s Genzebe Dibaba clock 14:18:86 to set a new world indoor 5000m record at the XL-Galan in Stockholm, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting, on Thursday.

The Ethiopian shaved more than five seconds off the previous mark of 14:24:37 set by her compatriot Meseret Defar on the same Ericsson Globe Arena track in 2009.

Dibaba's compatriots Birtukan Fente (15:22.56) and Birtukan Adamu (15:34.15) finished in second and third positions respectively.

In 2014, Genzebe Dibaba set world records indoors over 1500m and 3000m as well as running the world best time over two miles in Birmingham.

In other races, Jeremiah Mutai (Kenya) won the men's 800m in 1:47.40 and Ethiopian born German Tesfaye Homiyu took the men's 1500m in 3:34.13, a world leading mark of 3:34.13.
