The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has launched its new online platform for potential host cities of its World Athletics Series events.

The new bidding website and newsletter will allow cities to access the latest information about bidding for IAAF events, including event descriptions, bidding timelines and procedures, host cities’ rights and obligations as well as best practices from past and future host cities of IAAF events.

By creating this website, the aims to reach more cities and provide them with relevant information about IAAF events. All events are different in scope and size and offer cities of all sizes the opportunities to host world-class athletics competitions.

“The quality of the collaboration between an international federation and the hosts of its events is crucial for the sound growth of sport,” said IAAF president Lamine Diack.

“Our new approach acknowledges this crucial connection and aims to engage with cities from all over the world and get them involved in athletics and athletics events.”
