The 12th IAAF World Junior championships holds in Bydgoszcz, Poland from the 8th-13th July, 2008.
In order to meet all the IAAF’s requirements to host the 12th IAAF World Junior championships, the Bydgoszcz city's Zawisza stadium has changed its original design completely - the most noticeable being the reconstruction of three tribunes.
Only the “A” VIP spectators seats will stay as they are by adding only the glass wall at its back to protect from the wind.
The completely new roof construction was built over the tribune B. Under which were some conference rooms, biological renewal rooms and warehouses. The stadium capacity was also increase to 23 000 spectators seats, complete with nine lanes and blue colour track.
