The XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 holds in Delhi, India from October 3-14, 2010.

His name comes from the Hindi word Sher – meaning tiger

Shera truly represents the modern Indian. He is an achiever with a positive attitude, a global citizen but justifiably proud of his nation’s ancient heritage, a fierce competitor but with integrity and honesty.

The Athletics event of the XIX Commonwealth Games will be hosted at the renovated 60,000 capacity Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, named after the first Prime Minister of India, situated ear the Central Government Offices (C.G.O.) Complex in the Lodhi Road area.

Athletics has featured on the Commonwealth Games Programme since the inaugural Games in 1930 at Hamilton, Canada.

Out of 46 events for Men & Women 44 events will be held over seven days from 6 - 12 October.

The Marathon will be held on 14 October 2010 and 20 km walk on 9 October 2010, at J.N. Stadium.
